Stoker's life, I think, would make an interesting film of itself. The fact of his illness and inability to walk in early life and how he went on to become a winning athlete, his college days in Trinity, his role as theatre critic, and in particular his lifelong friendship and association with the actor Henry Irving. I see his 2 volume work, 'Personal Reminiscences of Henry Irving' is available online at http://www.archive.org/details/personalreminisc01stokiala. He also appears to have been acquainted with famous figures such as Oscar Wilde, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and William Butler Yeats. Not to mention his writings!
Is that not enough material for a TV film at least? The more I read about him, the more I want to discover.
